Christmas in February

This Christmas had me intermittently busy and bedridden; in addition to the normal socializing and prepping buzz of the holidays, my lovely in-laws came in from California a week or so after I had minor surgery. I did a lot of ornament decorating, but not a lot of picture taking. So, even though it’s February, here’s a few belated tree and ornament pictures.

This was our first real tree in 6 years. We figured a 4-footer was pretty cat-proof. These days, both cats are old as hell, and showed little to no interest in it. Only a few balls fit on it. The “skirt” is shiny paper cut into strips, stickers, some sewing trim and a whole lot of double sided tape, all piled on and stuck to my grandfather’s old double-decker side table.

This year, I spent around 5 dollars on a mix of 100 silver charms from Amazon. They’re the perfect scale for a 1 or so foot tree. The hooks are regular sized ones, cut in half and bent around jewelry pliers.

Here a a couple of ornaments I made this year.
